SOMMER.FRISCHE.KUNST.
Location: Bad Gastein
Not far from the southern German border, in the Austrian province of Salzburg, lies Bad Gastein, a very special little town that has been making an impression on and inspiring its guests for centuries. This unique town is characterised by palatial hotels from the time of the K.u.K monarchy combined with futuristic buildings from the 1970s, forming an idiosyncratic and exciting ensemble. Precisely this contrast of styles and approaches lends the town its special blend, allowing guests to indulge themselves in the sweet melancholia of bygone epochs while also recharging their batteries in the relaxed comfort of the present day.
Surrounded by one of the most impressive natural landscapes in the Alps, Bad Gastein is a perfect destination to rejuvenate the mind and the body. Whether with winter sports, for which the region offers an almost boundless snowy paradise, or in the summer, when epic mountain hikes and relaxed strolls keeps our guests in form. A lively Bad Gastein culture program stimulates the mind and encourages artistic growth.
Since 2011 the sommer.frische.kunst. art festival has been providing opportunities to observe young artists in the waterfall studio, visit art integrated into the urban landscape by famous artists such as Jorinde Voigt and Gerwald Rockenschaub, or even to discover your own creativity in one of the workshops. Many small events and get-togethers are hosted every day in the tasteful bars, restaurants, and lounges of Bad Gastein’s already legendary Hotel Miramonte, Hotel Haus Hirt, Hotel Regina, and Hotel Grüner Baum, providing opportunities for relaxed good cheer and to meet new people. Get ready for a holiday that won’t leave you cold.
